Down-to-Earth Sunrise Micro Wedding in the Italian Dolomites
Last Updated: September 10, 2024 | Published On: August 28, 2023
There’s no doubt about it, getting up early can be *hard*, and the weather conditions are never guaranteed…but WOW, when it all comes together, there are truly no words to describe it. Liis and Richard’s Italian Dolomites adventure wedding checked all the boxes of a perfect celebration.
The Estonian + Irish duo met while globetrotting, and spent the first half of their relationship hiking through the Canadian Rockies and road-tripping in a van through the National Parks of the American West before planting roots back in Ireland. The pair’s thirst for adventure was evident from start to finish throughout the planning process.
As busy parents with three young children, Liis and Richard knew they wanted to craft a day that would allow them to not only slow down and enjoy time as a couple to do the things they love most (exploring in the mountains), but also include close family and friends. Ultimately, what they came up with was one epic experience. Liis and Richard didn’t hold back on styling what mattered to them, such as the elegant touches to their attire and venue location, but were also happy to let the landscape do much of the talking.
The day started in the peaceful hours of the morning, long before the sun was up. Liis and Richard embarked on a panoramic hike with otherworldly views in every direction. They danced among the craggy peaks and toasted champagne in the early morning light. Everything was simply incredible, but one of the best moments was when a group of hikers excitedly made a wedding arch with their poles as the two hiked by.
When late morning came, Liis and Richard joined up with their friends and family for a beautiful ceremony at Hotel Kolfuschgerhof. Kolfuschgerhof is a phenomenal place for not only its chic accommodation and great customer service but also its outdoor venue space. The view is simply incredible.
Liis + Richard’s ceremony was a sweet, thirty-minute affair led by Chiara of @conference_wedding_interpreter. Afterward, they ended their celebration with group photos, lots of hugs, and of course, a toast.
I loved this wedding because Liis + Richard were authentically themselves from the start of planning, all the way through their wedding day. Their smiles and laughter were infectious, and it’s an adventure I’ll never forget.

Real Dolomites Elopement Experience: A review from my couple
”We were thrilled with how our wedding worked out. Christine was amazing from the first time we reached out up to and after our big day. We have to say she was very easy to work with and very thorough with the planning in advance of our adventure. During the day itself, we found her experience set our minds at ease, she was very upbeat, friendly, and professional. We couldn’t be happier with the photos, Christine’s work is just amazing. Would definitely recommend, just go for it.”
