Wonderstruck Elopement in the Heart of the Dolomites

THE FREAKING DOLOMITES! Can we just leave it at that? Seriously though, helping Erin + Alex elope in the heart of the Dolomites was an unforgettable experience. In tow, they brought the best company- their parents, and the lovely celebrant Yvonne Beck.

Erin + Alex initially reached out 18 months ago, and it’s hard to believe their elopement finally came to life. Sunny skies and pleasant temperatures greeted us after a late morning start. A gorgeous October day.

The two got ready separately at their hotel, sharing a memorable morning with family. Afterward, they exchanged first looks on their balcony before meeting up with everyone for their lakeside ceremony. Their celebrant, Yvonne led a heartwarming ceremony that had everyone laughing and (and shedding some tears) as we all kept stealing peeks at the mountains around. 

After the ceremony, we drove up a nearby mountain pass where Erin + Alex went on a short hike to exchange vows in private. Every direction we looked, a new view blew our minds. And we had the place all to ourselves. Despite being in a popular part of the Dolomites, we knew the perfect secluded spot to soak up unmatched vistas.

Autumn days fly by way too quickly, and soon, the sun was setting. The mountains glowed in the evening light, and the skies briefly showed off soft pinks and purples. We all ooooohed and ahhhhhed, making the most of the last bits of daylight. 

To wind down their night, Erin + Alex head back to their hotel, where they shared a cozy multi-course meal with family, and ate the prettiest cake. What’s an elopement in Italy without good food at the end of the night? After this day, our hearts were full.

Dolomites Elopement Timeline

This adventure elopement in the Italian Dolomites included two distinct locations. The first location was an easy-access spot to celebrate with parents in the valley. Afterward, we ventured further up the mountain so they could soak up high alpine views while sharing a private vow exchange. You can check out Alex + Erin’s Dolomites elopement timeline below. 

• 11:00 am – We arrive for getting ready coverage.
• 12:15 pm – Hair and makeup wraps up, Erin is ready to change into dress. 
• 12:30 pm – First looks with Alex at the hotel
• 1:00 pm – Leave hotel, drive to the family ceremony site.
• 1:30 pm – Arrive at the family ceremony site.

• 3:45 pm – Wrap up at the lake, drive to sunset private vow exchange location.
• 4:30 pm – Arrive at evening adventure location. Hike up to panoramic viewpoint.
