Whimsical Sunset Elopement in the Italian Dolomites
Last Updated: August 28, 2024 | Published On: August 28, 2024
Gabby + Pat eloped in the Italian Dolomites and can we just say WOW! What an experience from start to finish.
From our first conversation, these two shared that they wanted to celebrate in a way that would be stress-free, unique, and felt true to them. Throughout the planning process, Gabby + Pat were full of ideas, and ultimately settled on a day that brought together each of those elements beautifully. From adventurous activities to peaceful moments carved out, we loved getting to capture Gabby and Pat’s day.
When Gabby + Pat’s elopement finally arrived, the pair wanted to kick off with something exciting. To pull that off, they jumped off a mountain and went tandem paragliding with local guides. Talk about a dream way to see Italy from a completely different perspective! After paragliding, the two got ready at the stunning Hotel Kolfuschgerhof. By early afternoon, it was time for first looks, and then exchange heartfelt gifts surrounded by towering peaks.
The rest of the day was spent exploring among sweeping meadows and craggy vistas, before ending the day with vows just before sunset. Since Gabby is a geologist, the pair also had a small cairn-building ceremony while reading a poem about how this stack of rocks represented their relationship (on a leave-no-trace note, the cairn was disassembled afterward).
Throughout Gabby + Pat’s day, they created so many little moments that truly reflected who they were – from opting to paraglide which they’d previously loved doing, to custom crochet handkerchiefs, and thoughtful poems. They crafted their dream experience, and we loved every minute. We are so grateful we got to share a piece of Italy with Gabby and Pat.
We LOVE working with couples in the Dolomites. It’s the perfect destination for all adventure levels, with incredibly accessible views at every turn.

Real Dolomites Elopement Experience: A review from our couple
Wow. Christine and Scott truly amazed us from start to finish! Stumbling across their page solidified our crazy idea of a mountain elopement and made it clear it was them or bust! Not only was their photography style so dreamy, yet so real and authentic, they were clear favourites! From the thoughtful enquiry questionnaire it was obvious, being a Made in the Mountains couple is a special deal. Not only were we treated to Christine’s thoughtful approach, but the detailed and meticulously planned systems left no stone unturned no question unanswered. Which were rolled out in a timeline in perfectly planned bite sized pieces to not overwhelm us and that showed us at every turn she’d thought of everything! We truly felt so supported and guided by Christine and Scott, which made the entire lead up to the wedding stress free and we were genuinely so pumped to meet them and have an epic day! Annndd an EPIC day we had! Excuse me while I gush over how incredible our day was- thanks to them- and how truly amazing it was to see them in action! Christine our biggest hype woman running circles around us all day, and Scott who captured so many special candid moments without us even noticing! Two favourite moments from the day stem from Christine’s visions that not only made for off the charts epic photos, but captured the most beautiful moments. When Christine pointed out ‘does that look like a good ceremony spot?’ I burst into tears as it was exactly what we had envisioned, but so so much better! They gave us the perfect amount of space and direction, letting us soak in every moment and the mind blowing views. We could go on forever- and we will, because as long as we have these incredible photos and video, the memory of Made in the Mountains will always remind us of how grateful and lucky we were to find them!
