Intimate Queer Elopement in Germany’s Bavarian Alps

Last Updated: August 28, 2024 | Published On: August 2, 2024

Luck. That’s what these two amazing humans, Alexa (she/her) and Sam (they/them) brought to their intimate queer elopement day in Germany’s Bavarian Alps.

It’s not too often couples asks for clear skies and get them, but Alexa + Sam got exactly that. A brilliant Bavarian sky, nestled between frequent stormy days.

While we don’t get to typically get to meet our couples in-person until the day of, it was a special treat to spend the night before with these two grabbing dinner since they were staying just ten minutes down the road from where we live.

The pair decided to kick off their elopement with a first look to show off their custom suits. Can we just appreciate their impeccable style? Afterward, we took a local cable car up the mountain where Alexa and Sam read letters from family before exchanging vows. In the afternoon, we made a quick stop at Aldi for snacks since these two are Aldi fans in America as well (anyone else here??). Then, they read more letters from friends at the lake.

Before we knew it, the light was softening to welcome sunset. Surrounded by wildflowers there were frolics and laughs. It’s hard to believe how the time flies. Bittersweet ♥

Spending the day showing off some of our places as Sam and Alexa celebrated getting married was a dream. The love these two have for one another, and the way they perfectly complement each other was sweet to see + capture.

We LOVE when couples embrace something different, and choose lesser-known alpine destinations like Germany’s Alps. This area is completely underrated but has it all – mountains, lakes, waterfalls, sweeping flower fields, and quaint, European charm.

Real German Alps Elopement Experience: A review from our couple

10 out of 10 experience. Christine & Scott were so helpful throughout the full process and not only made our special day perfect but have delivered indescribable pictures and videos so we will never forget that perfect day. Leading up to our elopement they made sure we were completely prepared but made the planning process super easy so when the day came around we knew exactly what to expect. They are calm and an incredible team working together to find the perfect shots and making sure to capture every moment while not taking away from the magic around us. We cannot recommend Made in the Mountains enough!”
