About Your Alps Elopement Photographer and Videographer

Hey, we're Christine and Scott, your alps elopement photographer and videographer team.

As Americans based in the German Alps, we jumped into the elopement space not long after planning our own wedding a few years back. When we got married, we took the traditional route because no one gave us another alternative. We didn’t know outdoorsy introverts like us could have the day of our dreams. We didn’t know we could ditch the crowds and spend a day connecting with the things we love most: each other and the mountains. As our adventures have taken us from the Arctic to the Alps, we’ve found more and more couples like ourselves. Couples who wanted an ‘’off the beaten path’’ wedding in the outdoors that would leave them feeling fulfilled and empowered. Now, we help couples create and capture those inspiring experiences in our backyard and beyond.

what others couples say about me

''Let me just say that Christine of Made in the Mountains Photo + Film was the sweetest most genuine photographers we’ve met. When my girl and I met up with her for our shoot it was as if we were meeting a long lost friend. Christine made us feel comfortable with being ourselves and that’s very important for us introverts. Thank you so much for having us. 100 percent would recommend!'' - Robb

''It was as if we were meeting a long-lost friend.''

What does it feel like to be photographed by me?

Something I regularly hear is, ‘’We’re awkward and don’t know how to take photos!''. Heck, I’m guilty of saying it myself. Can I let you in on a secret though? Everyone is photogenic. What makes or breaks an image is whether you feel comfortable or not. The beauty of outdoor elopements is we create a space where you and your partner can explore and connect with each other. A place for you to be authentically yourselves, so your images can reflect the beautiful humans you are.

OUR PASSION FOR ADVENTURE AND THE OUTDOORS IS AT THE HEART OF WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

Christine

Photographer + Owner

Growing up, I had never dreamed of climbing mountains. To the contrary, I actually lived in one of America’s flattest states, Indiana. When I was 15 though, I came across a photo of Grindelwald, Switzerland and something in that moment clicked. I needed places like that in my life. I began to pursue jobs all over, from working on trail construction in Glacier National Park, Montana, and throughout Northwest Colorado to Alaska and Germany. Over the years, my passion for the outdoors has continued to grow. Sharing that with others through hiking + photography has brought me so much fulfillment!

Videographer

My first experience with the mountains was while living and working in southeast Alaska. I was fascinated by the remoteness of the jagged peaks and bright blue glaciers (especially the glaciers). I also realized that I loved hiking up steep trails where my legs and lungs were trying to do everything to get me to take a breather. Being able to push through and reach some amazing viewpoints made it all worth the effort. I enjoy getting to know an area well and finding the hidden sweet spots that only those that really look for them can find. I also get a big kick out of showing people the obvious and not so obvious beauty of the areas in which we work.
